As a "Gadget Guy" I think this feature sets Castle apart from other Ski Area Websites! Good on Yeah CMR !

This sounds like some cool GIS stuff. Is this an online thing or do i need a special application to use this on a mac?

Great job Sacha. Helps clarify some of my confusion about what's what at the north end. Jim

This is a very good model of the mountain. You could use a better angle on it

Very neat! All the hills will be soon copying this idea, should market your services/abilities to them! A couple ideas for you. Maybe mark surrounding mountains as out of bounds, or unpatrolled terrain, or areas of severe avalanche danger. Oh and I think "Huckleberry" chair is spelled wrong (Hickelberry).

Dgil- do you have Google Earth loaded on your computer?
Fraser- I will look into the Mac aspects of this, thanks for the feedback.
Paul- thanks for the ideas!

Thanks everyone for the comments, i think it really is a cool feature for the website to have such a trail map! There are some minor problems that i have been unable to figure out like why the pictures are not loading... im still trying to figure that out but otherwise keep the comments and suggestions coming!

Dave, KMZ file format is a google earth file, you need Google Earth in order to use the file :)

Same problem as the others. Downloads but nothing opens up except google earth, and it zooms into the mountain. Awesome idea, and will be coming back regularly to see if the glitch is fixed.

Once you have google earth downloaded, open the file and look under the "Places" list. A box should be there to check called "Castle Mountain Trail Map.kmz" click this and the the runs should appear.
